Summit keynote: introducing Ebrahim Varachia
Speaking in Australia for the first time, we are thrilled to announce our Great Neighbourhood Summit 2019 keynote: Ebrahim Varachia, President & Co-Founder of Patronicity.
Based out of Detroit, Michigan, Ebrahim recognised a city filled with people passionate about growth, empowerment and change, but lacking in tools and resources to get started. Ebrahim believes the cornerstone between a great idea and it coming to life is funding, and started Patronicity.
Patronicity is a civic crowdfunding platform that matches citizen, government, development authority and sponsor funding to empower local people and catalyse sustainable growth across Michigan, and the United States.
Transcending typical crowdsourcing models, Patronicity are leading a new wave of crowdgranting, democratising capital, inspiring co-contribution, getting hands-on with mentoring and enabling communities to envision and deliver meaningful and impactful projects. Numerous case studies are available here.

Ebrahim will be speaking on ‘crowdgranting: democratising capital to build vibrant communities through placemaking‘. Welcome to the party Ebrahim! We are excited to have you join us as Summit keynote.
The Great Neighbourhood Summit is being held on 1 April at the Abbotsford Convent. Tickets are available here.
